Missing children

Did you ever wonder what happens to children who disappear???? Do they die or do they end up some place rescued by people who just don't want them to find their families?
Yesterday I read an article written by a russian journalist that made me so angry, so I just felt the urge to write about it here on my blog. The article was in russian, but i'll update you about the main points. It was about professional beggars in Russia, Belarus and Ukraine who steal, buy or borrow children and end up killing them by the huge amount of drugs or alcohol they are filling them with to keep them calm and asleep while they are working with them on the streets.
The journalist tried to confront these beggars (who usually look like moms with very young kids on their arms), he noticed a lady at a subway station who was sitting there every day with a baby who was ALWAYS asleep. He asked why the baby is always sleeping, but couldn't get any answer. The beggar was just cursing at him......
He also describes other situations about kids who never cry, are always asleep and never moving, besides that he also noticed that some of the beggars he's been keeping an eye on for months, suddently have other kids on their arms and not the same ones they've been seen with before or they simply don't have any .
What does all of this mean?

Unfortunately only one very sad observation:
The beggars steal or buy these kids, drug them and use them as a tool while begging to create an even more sad situation which force people to give them money. Money that end somewhere else, and NOT in their pockets.
The poor children die as a result of too many drugs or too much alcohol and will be replaced by other children. This is just one of the things that happens to missing children, there are other cruelties.

Here are links to other articles about the issue where you'll find pics of the beggars:

Another article I read tells that according to the statistics "every 30 minutes a child is missing in Russia." http://english.ruvr.ru/radio_broadcast/2249159/61738170.html
