Ignorance is a sin

Ignorance is a sin no one talks about.
It’s your duty to learn, to educate yourself, to know what’s going on, to understand.
You need to become the best version of yourself, don’t try to imitate, find your own path, or keep searching until you find it.
No matter where you’ll look you will realize that it’s all about reading. Philosophy, religion, psychology, politics, you name it. It’s all about reading and understanding.

I remember some years ago I asked my Arabic teacher to tell me more about Islam and especially the Quran, so I could write my school project, he smiled and said: The first word in the Quran is: Iqra meaning: Read!
It made me think that no matter what religion you have, it’s there to guide people, to fight the ignorance, to educate them and teach them what’s right and wrong, because believe it or not, THEY DON’T KNOW!
How will a person know what’s right and wrong if he/she never been to school, never read anything.. I’ve met people around the world who left a really shocking impression on me by their way of thinking and not knowing what moral and ethics are. They were driven by their natural instincts, and made decisions based on those instincts, which were quiet shocking.

Some of the people I admire the most have all given me same advice: Read and educate yourself. You can never know too much, no matter what university degree you have. Keep reading and keep trying to understand the world around you.
Because nothing is sadder than stupidity and being ignorant is sinful.
